Everyone Is Here Now

Everyone is here now.

Bert and I, from a family of five, have as many between us. Five cousin-siblings.

Years ago – years that now feel like moments – these five were small. But time snuck up on us all like a cat on soft paws. No no one knows when it pounced. It’s not like that: one day a child, the next all grown up. It’s a slow-motion miracle.

And what about the joy of watching them bring home, into the fold, those that they have found in the world to love for themselves, and to be loved by.

And perhaps I shouldn’t say it out loud, but I see the children they will have, and I see the loves they will find and bring home into their folds.

I see onward and always, the marvel of love unfolding, one person at at time.
